Damon Wayans, Jr. (born November 18, 1982) is an American actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Damon portrayed Coach on New Girl in the series' "Pilot" episode, and is set to reprise the role for at least four episodes in season three.

He is best known for portraying sensitive husband Brad Williams on ABC series' Happy Endings, which ran for three seasons from 2011-13. Assuming the low-rated comedy would be cancelled after its first season, Wayans Jr. signed on to play Coach on New Girl, and had completed filming of the series pilot before it was announced that Happy Endings would return for the 2011-12 TV season. Under contract with ABC for the role, he could not remain with Fox' New Girl. As a result, his character was written out of the show and Lamorne Morris' Winston Bishop was added to the cast in his place.

Wayans Jr. is a member of the well-known acting dynasty - his father is In Living Color creator and star Damon Wayans. He is the eldest of four children born to Wayans and his wife, Lisa Thorner, and was born November 18, 1982. His uncles are notable comedy duo Shawn and Marlon Wayans.

Having been raised in an acting family, it's no surprise he entered the family business, getting his start with roles in his father's projects, like the 1994 comedy Blankman and the 2001-05 sitcom My Wife and Kids, and through a starring role in the Wayans' family comedy, Dance Flick in 2009.

He has earned raves for his stand-up comedy, appearing on HBO's rebooted Def Comedy Jam, a Russell Simmons project, in 2008, and in a guest appearance on Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV in 2012, which also features New Girl recurring player June Diane Raphael (Sadie).

He is set to costar with New Girl colleague Jake Johnson (Nick) in the 2014 buddy comedy Let's Be Cops, which filmed in Atlanta during the summer of 2013. (Rob Riggle, who guested in "Parents," will also star in the film.)
